Installing Eight Degree Easy Tags (Administration Panel)

• Get a copy of  Eight Degree Easy Tags
• Log in to the WordPress Administration Panel.
• Click on Plugins then click Add New
• Click on Upload  button at the top and browse the downloaded zip file in your computer.
• Click on Install button and then Activate the plugin.

Installing Eight Degree Easy Tags (Cpanel / FTP)

• Get a copy of  Eight Degree Easy Tags
• Unzip the downloaded zip file.
• Upload the unzipped file in to /wp-content/plugins/
• Now, activate the plugin by going to Plugins -> Installed Plugins in the WordPress dashboard.
• Activate the Eight Degree Easy Tags and Click on Eight Degree Easy Tags on dashboard menu for tag setup.
• You will see Eight Degree Easy Tags in the admin dashboard as below,

Configuring Eight Degree Easy Tags:

Section A:Tags Properties

Enable

• This option allows to check whether to diplay the Eight Degree Easy Tags cloud or not like a switch button.
• Other settings are still saved if this option is not checked. 

Description

• Here, a little description can be added regarding type or character of the tag cloud.
• If this option is filled up ,it will be diplayed along tag cloud later.

Text Color

• Users can pick up the color for text of tag group by clicking on this button.
• Also hex code for the custom color can be given as input.

Tag Template

• This option has numbers of  templates to be choosed for outlook of tag cloud
• A total of 15 tag templates are available for now

Letter Case

• This option has capability of converting  text from lower to capitalize or upper to lower

Font Style

• This option sets style of font as normal ,oblique or italic

Text Alignment

• Users can choose text alignment inside tag as to align at center, right or left position

Text Weight

• Text weight can be set as bold or normal

Section B:Tags Options

These area of setup are related with wordpress provided parameters

Minimum Text Size

• This option takes minimal size  of text as input for smallest tags 

Maximum Text Size

• Similarly, this option takes maximum size  of text as input  for largest tags 

Tag Unit

• This sets the type of css unit like 'pt', 'px', ' em' or '%' for tags

Tag Number

• Total numbers of tags to be displayed in tag cloud can be set by this option

Tag Layout

• This dropdown has flat or list option
• Flat option gives one after another tags
• Whereas, list layout prints a single tag term for a line

Tag Seperator

• This option puts a character any symbol in between tag terms in tag cloud
• eg: , , .,  /, 1, a, 7,+, -, ^ etc
• If  this option set empty then a space is taken as tag seperator by default

Order Tags:By

• ​This option order tag terms in accordance to terms first letter that is by 'name' or by numbers of repeated terms according to the tag 'count'

Sort Tags:By

• This gives a heirachy of printing out tag terms in 'ascending' or 'descending' or 'random ' manner of sorting according to 'name' or 'count'

Set Link

• ​This option provides functionality to just view  the source of tag origin while term is clicked or also give access to edit tag terms if previlege meets

Show Count

• If this option is  checked it  prints out count of terms for a same tag from all the posts made in wordpress with tags

Section C:Tags Include/Exclude

Choose Taxonomy

Wordpress has bulit in taxonomy types such as 'category', 'post_tag','link_category','nav_menu' and 'post_format'

But only 'category','post_tag' and 'post_format' are in our scope of concerns.

Category:

• This taxonomy is hierarchical and can have numbers of hierachy.
• If this option is checked then Eight Degree Easy Tags will generate tag cloud on the basis of categories submitted for the posts as ''category'' taxonomy.

Posts:

• If this option is selected , then all the tags that were saved while writing posts and pages are populated as tag cloud
• It is non hierachical type of taxonomy and belongs to ''post_tag'' taxonomy.

Post Format:

• If this taxonmy is choosed then, all the tags posted with ''post_format'' type of posts for image, video, gallery, quote, chat, audio etc are generated

Along ,above taxonomies Eight Degree Easy Tags will also list out the the custom registered taxonomy to make selection.

Include/Exclude

This part of setup contains three options:

1).Include all available

This option if selected will provide all tag terms available for generating tag cloud for selected taxonomy type above.

Still, if  number of tag is set less than available terms, then set numbers of tag will be included in the tag cloud 

2).Include checked

This includes only terms that are checked into the tag cloud.

Only checked terms will be included in tag cloud

3).Exclude checked

This excludes all the checked terms in the tag cloud, that is to be generated.

Unchecked terms are the tag terms

Choose terms for taxonomy types

This part of setting is for including or excluding the terms of taxonomy

Before using shortcodes, users should add a post and publish it  as setting for Eight Degree Easy Tags. Then, the generated shortcodes can be copied and paste to page and post for generating group of tags.

Some of steps to perform to generate tag clouds are,

1. First install  Eight Degree Easy Tags plugin.
2. Click on  Eight Degree Easy Tags-->ADD NEW
3. Fill up title of post along all setups and click on Publish
4. Now, copy the shortcode generated
5. Paste it into the post or page
6.  Eight Degree Easy Tags cloud will be displayed at the respective page or post 

Eight Degree Easy Tags can be easily configured by performing following few steps.

• Go to Dashboard
• Click on Appearance then on Widgets
• Look into Available Widgets, Eight Degree Easy Tags will be listed 
• Add Eight Degree Easy Tags desired widget area
• Or just drag Eight Degree Easy Tags to the widget area
• Now give a title of widget and select previouly set Eight Degree Easy Tags from dropdown provided
• This will give Eight Degree Easy Tags cloud
